Taking a duvet day on friday afternoon pays off.
Starting on Friday noon the productivity curve in many companies is showing a sharp downward trend. With the thoughts already in the weekend, the employees often deal with activities that are not conducive to the company's success and only bridge the last hours. Marketagent shows that something meaningful can be done during this time and brings the Social Friday initiative to Austria for the first time.
Every quarter employees are released on a Friday afternoon to support socially relevant initiatives - like cooking for homeless people, actively spending time with residents of a retirement home or painting and handicrafts with children in the SOS Kinderdorf.
The concept of "Social Friday" (socialfriday.org) was launched by the Swiss-Macedonian entrepreneur Fikret Zendeli, who has set himself the goal of changing unproductive office Friday afternoons into social engagement. This not only actively increasing awareness of the social environment, but also strengthens the team structure.
In 2019, we were the first company which organized a Social Friday in four consecutive quarters and were able to receive a very special award :-)
